This is an example of a table used to load a graphic image that has been cut into pieces to make the file size smaller. Note the two cells to the right and left of the bottom of the image. By removing this part of the graphic, you save close to 10K in file size.

The trick here is to plan where your cuts will be and set the cellspacing and cellpadding to zero. By doing this, you can use larger graphics and save on download time.
